Water in Motion
Project type
Photographic Series
Date
September 17th, 2023
Location
Boulder Creek, CO
The 'Water in Motion' project was my first series of photographs composed in the course CMDP 3700: Photographic Practices for the Media Productions major at CU Boulder.
Our task was to document motion at different shutter speeds and also using different camera settings such as ISO or aperture.
For the motion assignment I chose to work specifically with the theme of water movement along different locations of the Boulder Creek.
Water is constantly flowing in different and ever-changing ways. I wanted to be able to capture the different forms in which water moves through a variety of methods, if that were the positioning of my camera or the decision of shutter speed/aperture. Each photo is meant to showcase a different manner in which the water is moving or how we see it as it moves.
I had a lot of enjoyment on creating this series of photographs and I definitely learned new ways to express the emotion evoked from nature by capturing the power of flowing water.
